Our Mission

To raise the bar with all things nutrition, fitness, and healthy living through evidence-based nutrition and performance science

We have raised the bar with all things nutrition, fitness, and healthy living and our mission is to guide you in doing the same while also helping you enjoy the journey.

High Bar started as a nutrition coaching business aiming to provide science-based nutrition help and real, lasting results. We still do that for our clients. But as you might know, healthy eating requires more than a meeting with a nutritionist or even an eating plan. It requires planning, grocery shopping, weighing, cooking, cleaning, and making time to eat.

We knew we could do more to help our clients improve their nutrition. We began prepping, selling, and delivering meals to take care of the logistics. The best indicator of success is adherence! When it comes following your meals plan, it’s as easy as heating your prepped, healthy, delicious meals.

That’s how we raise the bar!

About Our Founder

Dr. Kat Sweatt is Founder of High Bar Nutrition and a researcher in the fields of nutrition and exercise at University of Alabama at Birmingham, specifically in metabolism, body composition, diabetes, and women’s health. She earned her PhD in Nutrition Sciences and Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology at University of Alabama at Birmingham.

There are many opinions surrounding optimal nutrition intake making what, when, and how much to eat confusing. The truth is, there is no single best “diet” that all people should follow. Rather, nutrition prescription should be carried out on a personal basis for best results.

Meals designed by Dr. Kat are founded on evidence-based principles of energy and nutrient needs. The human body needs 3 essential elements from food - amino acids (building blocks of protein), omega-3 and 6 fatty acids, and the essential vitamins and minerals. Meals are designed to meet those basic needs (and for tasty enjoyment too!).

For requirements based on your body size and composition, goals, and activity level, send us a message to get a personal plan (whether you buy meals or not) or meal recommendations.

Lastly, as a former collegiate athlete and professional cyclist, the combination of science and sport performance is one of Kat’s passions. The best results for anyone with a sport-related goal is to train effectively and efficiently. Metabolism is the heart of training and performance. How should you train? We have the solution.
